This week, on Tuesday, March 9, I paused to think about International Women's Day, the day women are supposed to be celebrated, appreciated and loved. Yet we are constantly reminded of how little women matter in our society and how the people who are paid to protect us in fact fail us. It is no wonder why, in our day and age, sadly young women in particular are scared of the male violence taking place in their neighbourhood.
As a platform for user-generated video, we help creators and video journalists showcase their work on a global stage. I believe that compelling video can not only promote human rights but even play a part in helping women and girls around the world to live freely, be treated fairly and hold power to account.
To commemorate #InternationalWomensDay, here are some of my favourite inspirational Newsflare videos featuring fantastic females.
