Uploading a video to our website or having it sell to a TV company is a thrilling experience. For many, it can be a real eye-opener. Who knew that silly pet video could put money in your pocket? It’s an addicting feeling, and something many of our members are continually trying to repeat.
We’re all about helping members like you get the most out of Newsflare, and the video briefs section is our chance to give you a ‘heads up’ as to what our clients are after. Whether news organisations or TV shows, we offer insight into events and trends that are likely to get their attention.
How does it work?
Visit our video briefs page for a list of current briefs. Each one introduces the story, and explains which angles are likely to perform well. Some of our videos briefs cover a single event, while others are longer term. You are then given a ‘respond to video brief’ option. This ensures that any video you upload will join the front of the queue when our clients come calling.
If there’s a big news event in your area, we will sometimes send a push notification to your phone (providing you have the Newsflare app). This is targeted to your location and serves as a direct call for time-sensitive content.
What kinds of content are you looking for?
We’re after all types! We’re always searching for content to fit our clients’ briefs. Whether that be weather footage for an upcoming TV show or a newsworthy event that is likely to be of immediate interest, there are plenty of opportunities for you to get filming!
One of the best things about our video briefs is that the interest is already there. You don’t have to produce a once-in-a-lifetime shot to stand a chance of selling. As long as you’re at the right place at the right time, your footage will always tell a story. There are always winners.
How are video briefs selected?
With TV shows, the brief is provided directly from the client. As far as upcoming news events are concerned, our news team make decisions based upon which events are likely to be in the media spotlight. They might be annual celebrations, or they could be longer running seasonal themes.
There will always be news events no one can predict. But our aim is to give you the best chance possible of making a sale, and we’re always looking for opportunities where UGC can provide a useful angle.
More and more of our clients are turning towards your videos for richer, more compelling stories. Assignments are our way of steering you in the right direction, and of giving you the best chance of selling. Check out our video briefs page now!
