Why more brands are licensing viral videos
We are seeing a rise in the number of household brands coming to Newsflare looking to harness the power of viral videos. Traditionally brands would look to attach their name and message to a video that is currently trending, with the aim to let the power of that video carry the brand on its viral wave as it sweeps the web. However those at the forefront are now looking to explore how they can get their message across using video that are timeless, opening up more opportunities for videos to be sold to commercials years down the line.
A great example of this, which many in the UK may have seen recently on TV, is the cereal brand ‘Alpen’ who mixed a more traditional ad set up finishing with a viral twist.
Alpen’s message “It All Started So Well” allowed us to explore a vast range of clips with the brief only being that the video needed to be funny and allow for a studio filmed setup of the gag.
The selected video had been uploaded by Newsflare user ‘Eastwoodcc’ in October 2013, showing that no matter how old a video is, it’s the power of the content itself that brands are now moving to.
If you’re interested in either licensing a video or selling a video then do contact Newsflare on email@example.com for more information.
